How Can A Person Become Burned Out?

Most of us have been through some form of burnout.  With chronic stress often comes burnout.  Google’s definition of burnout is “physical or mental collapse caused by overwork or stress.”  So many of us are pushing our body to the limit and not stopping and taking the time to take care of the machine that we depend on.  Too many of us are spending our health on trying to get ahead and then try to regain our health when crisis situations arise.

When our brain is stressed for too long a period of time, bad things can happen.  I believe burnout occurs when our threshold for stress becomes minimized.  We all have a threshold or limit to what we can handle.  Chronic stress often lowers what we can handle.  Our ability to handle stress comes from the brain.  A weak brain cannot handle the same amount of stress a strong brain can.

Too many people are turning to very powerful drugs to handle the symptoms of burnout.  Side effects often come with these drugs.  It is important for people to realize that there are effective, non-drug options for anxiety, depression, chronic pain, insomnia and even addiction.  People now have a choice.  Neurofeedback, brain rehab exercises and nutrition help strengthen the brain and allow people to develop a great threshold for stress.

There is hope for people dealing with burnout. We have helped people over a decade using our non-drug program.  Many people wonder where to begin. It can be a confusing time trying to explore your options.  The first step is to schedule and exam and brain map.

A brain map helps identify if there is a neurological reason behind the burnout. Brain maps are a 15 minute, non-invasive, computerized, EEG analysis of brain function.
