What’s the difference between ADHD and ADD? Simple. ADD is considered by some to be an outdated terminology used for ADHD today although some would say there is a difference between them in that ADHD has the hyperactivity component while the other does not.

Both ADD and ADHD involve a difficulty concentrating and remaining focused on the tasks at hand. While many people still refer to the symptoms they struggle with as ADD, in 1994, the American Psychiatric Association released that edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders where they renamed ADD to ADHD.
